Validity of Driving License

• Leaner’s driving license is valid for (01) year.
• Non Commercial / Commercial driving license applicant can appear for mandatory testsafter 42 / 90 days respectively for obtaining the permanent driving license.
• Permanent Driving License validity: 03 / 05 years.

Test of competency for Permanent Driving License

• Theoretical Test consisting to (25) questions, requires (18) correct answer for securing(72) marks, out of (100) marks.
• Road Test requires as laid down in third schedule of Motor Vehicle Ordinance -1965. Therequirements will be explained by the qualified testing officers to the applicant, onthe spot.
• DLS system shall renew your driving license for further (05) from the date of process toonward. In case of endorsement of HTV category it is mandatory to have driving licenseexperience at least (03) years.

Renewal of driving license the DLS system shall renew your driving license for further (05)years only from the day onward.for the endorsement of HTV category, it is mandatory to have the driving license experience for(03) years at least.<(r>

(NOTE) After successfully passing the tests of competency, the applicant can obtain computerized driving license valid for 03 or 05 years.

I went to Nazimabad office (Karachi) with old Driving license, CNIC copy and also Original CNIC to enter license office and 2 photographs with blue background (I saw few people with different background photos as well and were accepted).

To save your time, go directly to the canteen on far right and ask for Renewal forms, they will charge Rs. 20/- also get a plastic pouch from them for Rs. 5/- which is needed to insert old license to be attached with form. There will be 2 forms one with your bio data and other for Medical.
